Teen Ministry

The Teens at Circle City Church strive to live out Matthew 22:37-39 37 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

We strive to love God by learning how God connects with us in our daily lives during our Sunday morning classes. During that class, we share our life experiences and how God desires to be a part of those experiences. We also dive into God’s encounters with people in the Bible.

We have grown to show God’s love to our neighbors by taking lunches and other items to downtown Indy to those who need them. We strive to do that once each quarter during the year.

Couple of our teens stated “Serving people downtown was a great experience. It was humbling talking to them and seeing their joy. It was also cool to see the way we served evolved. When we first started we make a paper bag lunch and that was it. Over time we learned and began giving more sustainable items along with food, like bus passes, toiletries, socks, and shirts – all things everyone needs. This shows how much we grew and learned from our experiences.”

“Getting to take lunches downtown changed my perspective on so many things. It made me feel more comfortable talking to people from a marginalized group that I didn’t have much encounter with prior to my experiences with the church. While giving them a meal and bus passes was helpful, many people just wanted somebody to talk to and know that people still care about them.”
