Areas of Focus

The Bible is our source of authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • Focusing on areas related to living lives acceptable to God in His earthly Kingdom (Titus 2; Ephesians 4:20-24; 1 Timothy 4:16)
  • Allowing for grace in disputable matters (Romans 14:1)
  • Making mature, faithful disciples of Christ (Matthew 24:10-13; John 8:31-32; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 3:14; James 1:22-25; 2 Peter 1:3-15; 1 John 2:28)

By this gospel you are saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-5)

One Baptism

  • As burial in water and resurrection to a new Life in Christ. (Romans 6:3-4)
  • *As a putting off of the whole self-ruled by the flesh and a demonstration of faith in the working of God, who raised Jesus from the dead. (Colossians 2:11-12)
  • For the remission of sins and for receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
  • For being saved and pledge of a good conscience toward God. (I Peter 3:21)
  • For being clothed with Christ. (Galatians 3:27)
  • To follow Jesus’ example and to obey his command to teach and baptize others to follow him. (Matthew 3:13; 28:18-20)

Being (1 Peter 3:21), Living (1 Peter 2:12), Doing (1 Peter 3:10-12), Good (BLDG) in Jesus’ name (Colossians 3:17)

  • Remembering who we are in Christ (I Peter 2:9-10), making choices in accordance with God’s will (2 Corinthians 5:14-15; I Peter 4:1-2) and allowing the Holy Spirit to mold and transform our character so that we are God’s holy, righteous and obedient children. (Romans 8:5; Colossians 3:1-4; Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1)
  • Learning to be led by the Holy Spirit through spiritual disciplines designed to train us to be open to the Spirit’s working (e.g. prayer, Bible study, worship and service). (Galatians 5:16-18)
  • Learning godly character through studying Jesus’ teachings in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7) and comparable teachings in the books of the New Testament
  • Growing in God’s loved and grace. (I John 4:7-21; II Peter 3:18)

All are one in Christ, so we exist as a diverse family of believers with various gifts used to serve (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11; Romans 12:3-8; I Corinthians 12:12-31)

  • Fostering spiritual maturity and faithfulness through Family Groups, Sunday morning classes, Sunday worship service and men’s and women’s ministry groups.
  • Devoted to study of God’s word, fellowship, weekly communion, prayer and giving thanks to God. (Acts 2:42-47)
  • Emphasis on developing servant leaders to meet the needs of the church and to help others grow in their spiritual maturity and service to others.

Producing the fruit of the kingdom of God (Matthew 21:33-44) by reaching out to serve the needs of others. (James 1:27)

  • Sharing the rescue and healing of Jesus (making disciples of Jesus) to meet spiritual needs.
  • Supporting aid groups and working with individuals to meet physical and emotional needs.
